About us
AIM Solutions is an early-stage deep-tech startup in Eindhoven building inspection and metrology equipment for the semiconductor industry. We are in active build phase, small, and growing.
The role
You design the hardware that carries our measurements: from machine housing to the wafer table and the structures that support the system. You work closely with the mechatronics, optics and system engineers, and you are the link between our designs and the workshops that make them.
You will:
Design the supporting hardware of our metrology tool, from the machine housing and frames to the system support structures
Take designs from concept to production drawings, select materials and finishes, and make them manufacturable
Work directly with CNC shops and other suppliers: request quotes, discuss tolerances and design changes, and follow parts to delivery
Use analysis (FEM, thermal, dynamic) where it matters, and keep designs simple where it does not
Assemble and test your own designs in the lab, and feed what you learn into the next version
Your profile
3+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design of high-tech equipment, for example semiconductor, metrology or scientific instruments
A track record of designs that went from CAD to working hardware, including drawings and supplier contact
Fluent in 3D CAD (Creo preferred, SolidWorks or NX also fine)
Solid grasp of tolerancing, GD&T, and design for manufacturing and assembly
Practical knowledge of machining and other production methods, so you know what a CNC shop can and cannot do
A hands-on mindset: you are as comfortable at the lab bench as behind your CAD station
Full professional proficiency in English
Bonus:
Cleanroom-compatible or vacuum-compatible design
Vibration isolation and thermal management for precision systems
In-depth semicon knowledge of SEMI standards, machine safety and CE marking
A network of suppliers in the Brainport region
Experience with opto-mechanical design is a strong bonus
We care more about engineering judgment and ownership than about a perfect match. If your background differs but you have designed and built precision hardware, apply anyway.
What we offer
Ownership of the mechanical design of a tool that does not exist anywhere else yet
Small team, short feedback loops, real impact on the product
Competitive salary for the Dutch market
