Cookies and browser storage

Your choice
The application does not set advertising cookies or use an analytics SDK. It uses browser storage for requested preferences and your privacy choice. Optional analytics requests stay off until you explicitly allow them. Rejecting optional analytics does not reduce access to the checker.
Necessary and requested storage
canibehired-consent-v1 stores your accept or reject choice and its date in local storage. The choice expires after 180 days; the stored record is replaced when you choose again or removed when you clear site data. canibehired-country stores a country you explicitly select until you change it or clear site data. Comparison selections use session storage for the current tab. Legacy CanIApply preference keys are read only for migration into the branded keys. These values are not advertising identifiers.
Optional analytics
If configured and allowed, PostHog receives limited product events such as page category, selected country, check outcome, and referral placement. Each event has a fresh random identifier; the application does not create a persistent analytics identifier or enable session recordings. Pasted text and full submitted job URLs are excluded. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable these requests even after an opt-in.
Change or withdraw permission
Use Cookie settings in the footer to allow or reject optional analytics at any time. Rejection stops future analytics events; it does not recall events already sent. Clearing this site’s browser data removes stored choices and makes analytics default to off again. If storage is blocked, your privacy choice applies in memory for the current page session and may need to be repeated after a reload.

Links to employers and Traceroster take you to separate services whose storage and privacy policies apply there. Hosting and network services may process operational request information. This policy describes application-controlled storage; report unexpected storage through the privacy contact.
