We're building the world's first creative entertainment platform, where the entire world can feel the joy and fulfillment of making music. Music is for everyone: Our users include everyone from grandmothers creating songs for their loved ones, to Grammy winners using Suno Studio, our power tool, to make the most popular hits in the world.
Building the future of entertainment requires ambition. The pace is fast, the problems are hard, and the work demands ownership and intensity. For the right people, it’s incredibly rewarding: a chance to shape a new medium, work with a small team that cares deeply about quality, make music, drink too much coffee, and build something that millions of people use to express themselves in ways that were never before possible.
Suno is the fastest growing consumer entertainment company and the leader in AI music. We are backed by leading investors including Bond Capital, Menlo Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, IVP, Forerunner, Union Square Ventures, Alkeon, Quiet, Matrix Partners, Schroders Capital and, NVentures (venture arm of NVIDIA).
About the RoleSuno is growing fast, and we’re hiring Staff and Senior Software Engineers to work on the products that define how people experience music on our platform. We have multiple teams tackling different dimensions of this challenge — from how content reaches users, to how users connect with each other, to how AI gives music a visual identity.
You’ll apply once, and during the interview process we’ll work with you to find the team that’s the best mutual fit based on your background, technical strengths, and what gets you excited. What all of these teams share: they’re building consumer-facing products at scale, they own their systems end-to-end, and they thrive on rapidly turning ambiguous problems into world class production-grade products. They have a nose for impact, and take on work from the 2-character performance fixes all the way through introducing brand new company-wide products, directly driving Suno’s top-line company goals.
Check out our Suno version of the job here: https://suno.com/s/OOxz00UgGKVmC3gY
What You’ll DoRegardless of team, you’ll:
Own products and systems end-to-end — from scoping what to build, to shipping, to monitoring and iterating post-launch
Build backend and full-stack systems that serve millions of users with high performance and reliability
Design clean, scalable APIs consumed by web, iOS, and Android clients
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data Science, and peer engineering teams
Run experiments, instrument metrics, and make data-informed decisions about what to build next
Communicate proactively and with high bandwidth — concise & information-dense async updates, stakeholder alignment, low entropy
Raise the technical bar through code quality, architectural thinking, crisp abstractions, and mentorship
We’re hiring across several product areas. During the process, we’ll match you to the one that fits best. Here’s a flavor of the kinds of problems our teams are solving:
Building and optimizing content feeds, playback systems, and discovery experiences that make listening on Suno feel instant and personalized
Creating the social layer that turns Suno from a creation tool into a creative network — profiles, follow graphs, engagement notifications, publishing flows, and new social formats
Partnering with recommendation systems to make content more personalized and relevant over time
Designing mobile-first APIs and working hand-in-hand with iOS and Android engineers
Reducing inference costs and latency for AI-generated content at consumer scale
Required
5-7+ years of software engineering experience
Backend or full-stack experience building consumer products at scale
Strong API design skills — you’ve built APIs consumed by multiple client teams and have opinions about how they should work
A generalist, get-it-done attitude paired with genuine technical depth in at least one area
Comfort with high ambiguity — you can scope what matters, make tradeoffs, and drive forward without a fully defined spec
Excellent communication skills — your written updates are clear and dense, and you collaborate well across teams
Product intuition — you think about the end user in addition to the system
Strong Plusses (one or more of the following)
Experience with feed architecture, recommendation systems, content ranking, or search/retrieval at scale
Experience shipping social product features (follow graphs, notifications, engagement systems, publishing flows) at a consumer company
Power user of social media with genuine intuition for why engagement mechanics work (familiar with network effects, NFX literature, creator dynamics)
Hands-on experience with AI image and/or video model inference — diffusion models, token-based inputs, LoRA tuning, inference optimization
Full-stack capability including modern frontend (React, TypeScript, NextJS)
Mobile-first API design experience working directly with iOS/Android teams
Experience building 0→1 products and existing on existing products in a startup environment
Web experience with Python, Django, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Postgres, Redis
Technical leadership experience
A love of music, whether you’re an avid listener or musician yourself
