About Sarvam
Sarvam is building the bedrock of Sovereign AI for India. The company is developing India's full-stack sovereign AI platform, building across research, models, infrastructure and applications with a singular focus on making AI genuinely work for India. Sarvam works with leading enterprises and public institutions and is backed by Lightspeed, Peak XV, and Khosla Ventures. Sarvam partners with India's leading brands, including Tata Capital, SBI Life, CRED, IDFC, and LIC.
About the Role
We’re looking for a technical writer to help people understand what we’re building, how it works and what they can do with it.
You’ll work closely with researchers, engineers and product teams to write about the decisions, advances and practical applications behind our work. That could mean explaining how we train a model, developing the story for a product launch or showing developers how to build with our APIs.
The role calls for technical curiosity and strong editorial judgement. You should enjoy getting into the details, asking questions until you understand something and finding a clear, compelling way to explain it. You’ll have substantial ownership over what we publish and how we sound.
What you’ll do
Write research papers, engineering blogs, product announcements and technical deep dives across Sarvam’s models and products.
Work directly with researchers and engineers to understand their work, draw out interesting ideas and develop pieces from early conversations through publication.
Explain technical approaches, benchmark results and design decisions with enough detail for readers to understand the evidence and trade-offs.
Develop launch narratives that clearly articulate what a model or product does, what has improved and where it is useful.
Adapt ideas across formats, from a detailed technical article to a product page, launch email or short social post.
Edit contributions from technical teams, strengthening their structure and readability while preserving the author’s expertise and intent.
Own fact checking, technical reviews and revisions, and help establish consistent editorial standards across our published work.
What you’ll bring
A portfolio of published work that demonstrates clear thinking, strong writing and the ability to explain technical subjects.
Enough familiarity with AI and software to read technical material, follow an engineering discussion and ask informed questions.
Strong judgement about structure, voice and detail. You can find the central idea in a complex subject and build a piece around it.
The ability to write for developers and researchers, as well as readers encountering a subject for the first time.
Care with evidence and claims. You know when a statement needs a source, a qualification or another conversation with the team.
Experience working with subject experts and incorporating feedback while keeping a piece coherent.
The initiative to identify stories worth telling and the discipline to bring them through to publication.
Experience that would help
You may have worked as a technical writer, technology journalist, developer educator or editor at a technology company or research organisation. Experience with AI models, APIs, developer tools or infrastructure would be useful, as would the ability to try products and run simple code examples yourself.
Matched by role category. Review each posting’s requirements before applying.
