As a Software Engineer on the Engine Productivity team, you will build and maintain the test infrastructure that keeps Roblox's engine code healthy — code-coverage reporting, cross-platform unit-test harnesses (including PS4/5), the ReferenceClient, and the buck2 test system. This work is becoming mission-critical: as AI-assisted development dramatically increases the volume of code being generated, fast and trustworthy test signal is what keeps engine quality high. You Have: 1–3 years of experience building software systems (internships or industry experience) Strong coding fundamentals in C/C++ (with Python or a similar language for tooling, diagnostics, and data pipelines) Genuine interest in debugging and program internals — curiosity about what the code actually does beyond the authored source (build output, generated code, harness and runtime behavior) Conceptual familiarity with build configurations (i.e., maintaining different configs for different purposes and understanding why they diverge) Strong data sense — the ability to tell whether a data aggregation is well constructed and whether it answers the right question A track record of driving cross-org / cross-team initiatives to completion You Will: Own and evolve the code-coverage reporting pipeline, keeping both full and patch-level coverage signal fast and trustworthy Build out additional diagnostics and reporting pipelines that surface the health of engine tests Keep the unit-test harness healthy across platforms, including PS4/5 Maintain the ReferenceClient and help extend it into new integration-test scenarios Ship improvements to the buck2 test system Partner with senior and staff engineers to strengthen C++ unit testing — a growing priority as AI-assisted development produces more code that must be verified quickly and reliably Please note the Company may not be able to employ candidates who have United States work authorization related to certain U.S. visa categories, or support future H-1B sponsorship at this time. Every day, tens of millions of people come to Roblox to explore, create, play, learn, and connect with friends in 3D immersive digital experiences– all created by our global community of developers and creators.

At Roblox, we’re building the tools and platform that empower our community to bring any experience that they can imagine to life. We’re on a mission to connect a billion people with optimism and civility, and looking for amazing talent to help us get there.

A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.

You Have:

  • 1–3 years of experience building software systems (internships or industry experience)
  • Strong coding fundamentals in C/C++ (with Python or a similar language for tooling, diagnostics, and data pipelines)
  • Genuine interest in debugging and program internals — curiosity about what the code actually does beyond the authored source (build output, generated code, harness and runtime behavior)
  • Conceptual familiarity with build configurations (i.e., maintaining different configs for different purposes and understanding why they diverge)
  • Strong data sense — the ability to tell whether a data aggregation is well constructed and whether it answers the right question
  • A track record of driving cross-org / cross-team initiatives to completion

You Will:

  • Own and evolve the code-coverage reporting pipeline, keeping both full and patch-level coverage signal fast and trustworthy
  • Build out additional diagnostics and reporting pipelines that surface the health of engine tests
  • Keep the unit-test harness healthy across platforms, including PS4/5
  • Maintain the ReferenceClient and help extend it into new integration-test scenarios
  • Ship improvements to the buck2 test system
  • Partner with senior and staff engineers to strengthen C++ unit testing — a growing priority as AI-assisted development produces more code that must be verified quickly and reliably

Please note the Company may not be able to employ candidates who have United States work authorization related to certain U.S. visa categories, or support future H-1B sponsorship at this time. You may redact age, date of birth, and dates of attendance/graduation from your resume if you prefer.
