We are looking for an R&D Software Engineer to bring production-grade software and data practices into our R&D measurement work. As we scale up VIO, our measurement data, metadata, and codebase are growing fast. You will take our existing measurement software and data practices to the next level, making them robust and maintainable, and building on how we organize data so it supports analysis, yield, and root cause investigations at scale. As channel counts grow, PCMs and test vehicles multiply, and test setups become more varied, you will standardize our experimental workflows so measurement throughput never becomes the bottleneck. You will also be the link between R&D, the software team in Product, and the data team in Operations, so our efforts stay aligned. What you’ll be doing Data management: Develop and maintain how R&D measurement data and metadata are stored, linking each device to its related tests, components, and setup history, so cross-device comparisons and yield questions become a quick query. Measurement software: Turn measurement prototypes from experimental physicists and RF test engineers into robust, tested, maintainable code, and maintain the R&D measurement codebase for VIO devices, their components, and PCM test vehicles. Code architecture & quality: Review, refactor, and maintain modular Python code following modern software practices (automated testing with PyTest, CI/CD, documentation, version control). Collaboration: Work day-to-day with experimental physicists, RF test engineers and electrical engineers to improve their measurement code, and connect R&D with the software team in Product to bring in best practices. Ownership: Own R&D software functionality through validation, review, and integration. Your Profile MSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or similar, plus 3+ years of industry experience (must). Experience building software that interacts with hardware, such as in the context of manufacturing companies, test and measurement systems, lab or factory automation, or control systems (must). Hands-on experience in control of test and measurement equipment is a plus, and experience in a quantum device foundry or test facility is a strong plus. Strong Python, with a track record of improving and maintaining code for data acquisition, automation, or scientific pipelines. Experience working with databases and cloud computing suites like GCP and AWS for technical or experimental data. Working knowledge of best practices, including object-oriented design, Git, code review, and testing frameworks. Strong drive to eliminate manual measurement and analysis overhead. Comfortable in a multidisciplinary scale-up, translating between experimental hardware teams and production software, and aligning with other teams working on data and software (Ops, Product). About Us

QuantWare is building the world’s most powerful quantum processors to solve humanity's greatest challenges. We do this with our unique VIO™ technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors.

With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don’t shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That’s where you come in!

What you’ll be doing

  • Data management: Develop and maintain how R&D measurement data and metadata are stored, linking each device to its related tests, components, and setup history, so cross-device comparisons and yield questions become a quick query.

  • Measurement software: Turn measurement prototypes from experimental physicists and RF test engineers into robust, tested, maintainable code, and maintain the R&D measurement codebase for VIO devices, their components, and PCM test vehicles.

  • Code architecture & quality: Review, refactor, and maintain modular Python code following modern software practices (automated testing with PyTest, CI/CD, documentation, version control).

  • Collaboration: Work day-to-day with experimental physicists, RF test engineers and electrical engineers to improve their measurement code, and connect R&D with the software team in Product to bring in best practices.

  • Ownership: Own R&D software functionality through validation, review, and integration.

Your Profile

  • MSc in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or similar, plus 3+ years of industry experience (must).

  • Experience building software that interacts with hardware, such as in the context of manufacturing companies, test and measurement systems, lab or factory automation, or control systems (must).

  • Hands-on experience in control of test and measurement equipment is a plus, and experience in a quantum device foundry or test facility is a strong plus.

  • Strong Python, with a track record of improving and maintaining code for data acquisition, automation, or scientific pipelines.

  • Experience working with databases and cloud computing suites like GCP and AWS for technical or experimental data.

  • Working knowledge of best practices, including object-oriented design, Git, code review, and testing frameworks.

  • Strong drive to eliminate manual measurement and analysis overhead.

  • Comfortable in a multidisciplinary scale-up, translating between experimental hardware teams and production software, and aligning with other teams working on data and software (Ops, Product).
