Poolside exists to be this company: to build a world where AI will be the engine behind economically valuable work and scientific progress. We believe the fastest way to reach AGI lies in accelerating software development itself, by reshaping the developer experience with agentic systems, coding assistants, and the frontier models that power them. We deploy these systems directly into the development environments of security-conscious enterprises. ABOUT OUR TEAM We were founded in the US and have our home there, but our team is distributed across Europe and North America. We get our fix of in-person collaboration together each month for a week, usually in London and sometimes in other countries. We also do longer off-sites once a year. Our People, Finance & Operations team is not an overhead team. We're commercially oriented and deliver products where Poolside is our customer and our team are our users. On the front end, we care about the experience: we design processes and choose tools that are easy to use and boost productivity and collaboration. On the back end, we're a highly knowledgeable team that prioritises automation and builds for scale, and we keep improving our processes, tools and materials as we grow, guided by the team's feedback and data. ABOUT THE ROLE We're looking for a Finance Manager who combines US GAAP expertise with a builder's mindset. Few finance roles offer this much exposure this early, or let you climb the learning curve this fast. ABOUT POOLSIDE

In this decade, the world will create Artificial General Intelligence. There will only be a small number of companies who will achieve this. Their ability to stack advantages and pull ahead will define the winners. These companies will move faster than anyone else. They will attract the world's most capable talent. They will be on the forefront of applied research, engineering, infrastructure and deployment at scale. They will continue to scale their training to larger & more capable models. They will be given the right to raise large amounts of capital along their journey to enable this. They will create powerful economic engines. They will obsess over the success of their users and customers.

ABOUT OUR TEAM

We were founded in the US and have our home there, but our team is distributed across Europe and North America.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Finance Manager who combines US GAAP expertise with a builder's mindset.

Few finance roles offer this much exposure this early, or let you climb the learning curve this fast. As you demonstrate precision, ownership and execution, you'll progressively take on strategic topics such as equity management, corporate structure and corporate governance.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

You'll own the accuracy of our financial information across an international, multi-entity group, and you'll use AI every day to redesign how finance work gets done.

Accounting, reporting & audit

  • The accuracy of our financial information, including complex transactions such as intercompany and consolidation

  • A timely monthly close, and internal and external reporting

  • All technical accounting matters under US GAAP, and a clean, fast audit process

  • Statutory requirements and compliance across all entities

Financial operations, systems & AI enablement

  • Financial operations, including bill and payroll payments, cash management and treasury

  • Relationships with our external accountants, auditors and tax advisors

  • Our financial systems stack: NetSuite, Ramp, Gusto, Payfit, Remote, Perk and others

  • Upgrading our workflows and procedures with agents and MCPs to improve accuracy and efficiency

Tax & investor relations

  • Optimising US and international tax matters, including the tax impact of management decisions

  • Preparing investor communications, first alongside our Head of Finance and progressively on your own

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • You're a CPA with a strong audit background that gave you a deep understanding of US GAAP and the preparation of audited financial statements

  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite

  • A proven track record of building automations and using AI to make finance work more accurate and efficient

  • Strong, long-term relationships with external providers and partners

  • A self-starter, scrappy, solution-oriented mindset: you get things done even when starting from a blank page

  • Strong communication skills: you simplify complex problems and make them understandable

HOW WE WORK

Beyond technical know-how, we're looking for someone who fully commits to the way we work.

  • Deliver excellence. You're obsessed with accuracy and put in the work to get every detail right. You don't rely on reviewers to catch what you missed.

  • Be radically accountable. You own your workstreams. When something goes wrong, you fix it, address the cause and make sure it doesn't happen again.

  • Move fast. Speed is critical in our industry. Deadlines are commitments, and you meet them without needing to be reminded.

  • Build your own context. Information shared once becomes part of your knowledge. You have a system to capture it, so it never needs to be repeated.

  • Overcommunicate. We're a remote team. You share information proactively, clearly and often, and you respond promptly.

  • Sustain the intensity. Your standards stay the same during our most demanding periods. You manage your own energy so they never slip.

PROCESS

  • Intro call with Matthieu, Head of Finance

  • Team-fit call with Sarina, VP of People

  • Deep-dive interview and case study with Margarida, COO, and Matthieu

  • Final interview with Margarida

BENEFITS

  • Fully remote work & flexible hours

  • 37 days/year of vacation & holidays

  • Health insurance allowance for you & dependents

  • 16 weeks of flexible, full-pay parental leave

  • 7k net Well-being, always-be-learning & home office allowances

  • 5k net village fund to support parents

  • Company-provided equipment

  • Frequent team get togethers

  • Diverse & inclusive people-first culture
