About the Role Polymarket is looking for a Senior Web Engineer to own complex frontend features, improve reliability, and help us ship faster with confidence. You'll own major web surfaces end-to-end: from scoping and implementation through launch, monitoring, and production support. This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of frontend product development, backend systems, performance, and reliability. You should have experience in crypto and be comfortable shipping complicated React/Next.js features, debugging ambiguous production issues, and working across teams without needing hand-holding. We want someone who can move fast, make strong technical decisions, and help raise the quality bar for our frontend systems. What You'll Do Own and ship complex features end-to-end. Build and launch web features across Polymarket's core product surfaces, making thoughtful tradeoffs between speed, quality, architecture, and long-term maintainability. Collaborate across the stack. Work closely with backend engineers to design APIs, reason through data flows, and build reliable user experiences on top of complex systems. Partner with QA, TPM, product, and design to clarify requirements, manage launches, and improve product quality. Own reliability and incident response for your domain. Monitor dashboards, alerts, and user reports to identify and respond to issues quickly. Work with backend and infrastructure teams during incidents to isolate root causes, ship mitigations, and follow through with fixes and prevention work. Improve frontend observability. Build and improve the logs, metrics, alerts, dashboards, and error reporting that give the team visibility into how our frontend systems are performing. Raise the engineering bar. Identify meaningful technical debt, propose pragmatic refactors, and contribute to system design discussions that evolve our frontend architecture as the product scales. Lead by example through strong code reviews, clear communication, and high-quality execution. Tie technical work to outcomes. Connect your work to measurable results – performance, reliability, product quality, and conversion – and help break down ambiguous product requirements into shippable engineering work. What We're Looking For 5+ years of frontend web engineering experience with experience in crypto, Web3, or adjacent financial infrastructure Strong hands-on experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend development Strong frontend system design instincts across state management, data fetching, caching, performance, reliability, and maintainability Experience owning complex features from scoping through launch Strong debugging skills and experience responding to production issues Comfortable working with backend engineers on APIs, data contracts, failure modes, and system behavior High agency: you notice problems, propose solutions, and drive work to completion Product-minded: you care about user experience, not just implementation Able to operate independently in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment Clear communicator during planning, launches, bugs, and incidents (Plus) Frontend performance specialization (Plus) Experience with high-traffic, real-time, marketplace, trading, or financial products (Plus) Experience building for WebViews or shared web/mobile surfaces (Plus) Experience improving frontend observability, alerting, or reliability practices (Plus) Strong practical use of AI tools to improve engineering productivity Benefits Competitive salary & equity Unlimited PTO Full Health, Vision, & Dental coverage 401k match Hardware setup: new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories Pay Transparency Base salary range: $230,000 to $330,000 annually, plus equity and benefits.
