Hello. We’re Polaroid. An iconic brand, built by passionate people
Polaroid was founded in 1937 by one of the 20th century’s most influential innovators, Edwin Land, whose philosophy was: “Don’t undertake a project unless it is manifestly important and nearly impossible.”
In 2008, Polaroid produced its last pack of instant film. But a group of passionate fans refused to let instant photography disappear. What started as The Impossible Project grew into a mission to preserve and reinvent analogue photography for a new generation. More than a decade later, that same startup acquired the Polaroid brand and continues to shape its future today.
At Polaroid, we create products and experiences that spark emotion, fuel creativity, and bring people closer together. At the intersection of art and technology, we believe in the power of analogue moments and genuine human connection in an increasingly digital world.
The Role
The Electronic Engineer (Manufacturing and Continuous improvement) supports and improves released Polaroid products in mass production. The role focuses on electrical and electronic product improvements, ECR/ECN execution, cost-down initiatives, quality issue resolution and production productivity improvements through better product design and manufacturability.
The engineer works closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Product Development, Process Engineering, suppliers and manufacturing partners to keep production stable and continuously improve released products.
Key Responsibilities
Own sustaining electrical / electronics engineering activities for released products in production.
Support and drive ECR/ECN activities, including technical impact assessment, validation, documentation updates and production implementation.
Lead product improvement and cost-down activities based on production issues, quality data, field feedback and supplier input.
Improve production productivity by improving product design, manufacturability, diagnostics, assembly robustness and testability.
Investigate and resolve electrical/electronic production, supplier and field quality issues using structured root cause analysis.
Support manufacturing test, failure analysis, component substitutions, supplier technical discussions and engineering documentation updates.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in electronics engineering, manufacturing engineering, sustaining engineering or product support within consumer electronics or similar products.
Strong understanding of electronic components, PCB assemblies, embedded systems, power circuits, sensors, interfaces and electronic test methods.
Practical understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly processes, test processes, yield improvement and production troubleshooting.
Hands on experience using PLM systems.
Experience with ECR/ECN processes, validation, engineering documentation control and working with suppliers or manufacturing partners.
Familiarity with DFM/DFA, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, 8D or similar structured problem-solving methods.

Our Approach to AI
At Polaroid we believe two things can be true at once: technology can help us move forward, while human creativity, craft, judgement and real-world connection matter more than ever.
Since our beginning, we've embraced technology to create meaningful human experiences. Today that means exploring new tools, including AI, with curiosity and care, using them where they help us work better and build a stronger business, while staying true to what defines our brand.
