The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to turn health plan data into the reporting, analyses, and insights our customers rely on.

You’ll work hands-on with claims, authorization, eligibility, and clinical review data from our health plan customers. You’ll build and maintain the analyses and dashboards that show customers what’s happening in their populations: utilization trends, provider variation, cost, and the impact of programs running on the Onos platform.

This role works closely with our data science, product, and customer teams. This role is tightly focused on core analytics – tackling complex analytical questions independently. You’ll own analyses end to end, from digging into data to presenting results to customer stakeholders, and you’ll help make repeatable analyses into standard reporting in the product.

What You’ll Be Doing

Customer Analytics & Reporting

  • Build and maintain customer-facing reports and dashboards covering utilization, cost, provider performance, and program outcomes.

  • Run analyses that answer specific customer questions, such as where spend is concentrated, which providers are outliers, and how a program is affecting utilization.

  • Support ROI and impact analyses by preparing data, running calculations, and checking results against agreed methodologies.

  • Prepare findings for customer meetings and present results to analytics and operational teams at health plans.

Data Onboarding & Quality

  • Explore and analyze structured, analysis-ready customer data feeds (including claims, authorizations, eligibility, and clinical documentation) to extract key insights.

  • Investigate data quality issues, anomalies, and inconsistencies, collaborating closely with Engineering and customer teams to ensure accurate reporting.

  • Partner with Data Engineering to define business logic and data requirements needed for downstream analytical workflows.

  • Build checks that catch data issues before they reach customer reporting.

Product Support

Collaborate Across the Company

  • Work with Data Science, Product, Engineering, Clinical Operations, and Customer Success on customer engagements and internal projects.

  • Be a go-to resource on how our customers’ data is structured and what it can and can’t support.

What We’re Looking For

  • 4+ years of experience in healthcare analytics or a related analytical role.

  • Hands-on experience with healthcare claims data; experience with authorization, eligibility, or clinical data is a plus.

  • Strong SQL skills, working proficiency in Python for data analysis, and proven ability to independently answer complex, ambiguous analytical questions.

  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and building processes from the ground up.

  • Healthcare payer, provider, or health technology experience strongly preferred. Behavioral health experience is a plus.

  • Exceptional references from colleagues and former managers.

Why This Role Is Unique

At Onos, Analysts aren’t a back-office reporting function.

You’ll work directly with health plan customers, see how your analyses inform their decisions, and help shape the reporting built into the Onos platform.

If you like digging into messy healthcare data, getting the numbers right, and seeing your work used by customers, we’d love to talk.
