We are looking for a hands-on HSEQ leader to build our health, safety, environment, and service quality function from the ground up, personally. Reporting to the Head of Field Service, you will own HSEQ outcomes across every region we operate in, currently the US and Australia, and set the baseline we will take into Europe and the Americas as we grow.
This is not a role where you inherit a team or start by hiring one. You will write the policies, SOPs, and QA checklists yourself, get on site with our Direct Technicians and Field Service Partners (FSPs), run the audits and investigations, and build the dashboards our leadership team relies on. You will carry full accountability for HSEQ outcomes and the authority that comes with it, and you will deliver the work with your own hands, influencing through our technicians, partner network, and operations leaders rather than through direct reports.
The goal is simple: every service call is executed safely, fixed right the first time, and leaves the customer with an outstanding experience, meeting local regulations everywhere we work while holding one high global standard.
What You'll Do
At Omnidian we believe in trust and autonomy. How you create an impact is ultimately up to you. Here is an outline of some of the things you’ll be doing:
Build the HSEQ program yourself: Write, implement, and maintain a unified Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality program covering worker safety, job site practices, PPE, working at heights, electrical and battery safety, and environmental considerations across multiple jurisdictions. You draft it, roll it out, and keep it current.
Set and enforce workmanship standards: Write clear, standardized technical requirements for solar and storage repairs, and build the post-repair validation process that confirms all work is structurally sound, electrically compliant, and addresses the root cause of the system failure.
Get in the field: Conduct site audits, ride-alongs, and spot checks with Direct Technicians and FSPs across our regions. You are as comfortable on a roof or at a switchboard as you are presenting to leadership.
Govern our partner network: Build and run the FSP safety and quality scorecard, onboarding requirements, and "Stop-Work Authority" and "Quality Correction" protocols. Work directly with underperforming partners to drive corrective action.
Lead investigations: Personally lead root-cause analysis (RCA) on safety incidents and field failures, drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) through to closure, and update standards and training so issues do not repeat.
Keep us compliant: Ensure all field activities and workmanship meet or exceed local building codes, electrical standards, and national regulations (e.g., OSHA and NEC in the US, Safe Work Australia and AS/NZS 3000 in Australia, and equivalent European and Latin American standards as we expand).
Own the documentation: Build and maintain a centralized, audit-ready library of HSE policies, QA checklists, SOPs, and technical repair instructions. Support Legal and Client Success on MSA safety exhibits and quality SLAs.
Build the metrics: Build the Field Service Management (FSM) dashboards yourself and report on leading and lagging safety indicators, First-Time Fix Rate, dispatch callbacks, and customer satisfaction/NPS. Use the data to shift the organization from reactive troubleshooting to preventive risk and quality management.
Set the customer experience standard: Define professional conduct, communication, and onsite behavior standards for technicians representing our brand, and audit customer touchpoints to improve them.
Work across the business: Partner with Operations, Partner Management, Legal, and Client Success to build safety and quality into day-to-day operations and service delivery workflows.
Who You Are
A builder, not a delegator: You would rather write the SOP tonight than schedule a meeting about it. You have built HSEQ or QA programs yourself, not only overseen teams that did.
Credible in the field and with leadership: Technicians and partners respect you because you know the work. Executives trust you because you bring clear data and clear recommendations.
Uncompromising quality champion: You believe a job is not done until it is done safely, done right, and permanently resolved. Repeat dispatches bother you.
Customer-centric operator: You see technical field work through the eyes of the end customer, and understand how technician behavior, promptness, and clean execution drive client retention and brand reputation.
Influential without direct authority: You drive accountability across internal teams and an external partner network through standards, data, and relationships.
Meticulous and analytical: You love finding the "why" in data, tracking trends in workmanship failures and safety near-misses, and turning them into clear, practical fixes.
Energized by building: You enjoy the pace of a growing company and are comfortable creating structure where it does not yet exist.
Experience You’ll Need
8+ years in HSEQ, HSSE, or Quality Assurance within solar, electrical, construction, or highly technical field service environments, including substantial time doing the work hands-on: writing programs, auditing sites, and leading investigations.
Experience reporting HSEQ performance to, and influencing, senior leadership.
Quality management expertise: A proven track record of personally developing and implementing QA programs, workmanship standards, and training for distributed field forces.
Multi-jurisdictional knowledge: Strong working knowledge of US electrical codes and OSHA standards, and a demonstrated ability to learn, apply, and audit international regulatory frameworks (e.g., Australia).
Investigation and root-cause mastery: Experience conducting RCA for both safety incidents and complex technical or workmanship failures.
Hands-on data skills: Experience pulling FSM data and building the dashboards yourself to report on performance trends such as callbacks and compliance scores.
Experience That’s a Plus
First HSEQ hire experience: You have been the first or only HSEQ leader in a growing business and built the function from scratch.
Continuous improvement certification: Lean, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), ISO 9001 or ISO 45001.
Solar and storage technical depth: Deep understanding of residential and commercial PV systems, inverter troubleshooting, and energy storage systems. A trade licence or electrical qualification is highly regarded.
Subcontractor network quality control: Experience managing and scoring quality, SLAs, and safety compliance across a large third-party partner network.
International expansion: Experience scaling HSEQ frameworks as an organization grows from a single-country footprint to a global multi-market service provider.
