About Us
Office Hours is an on-demand expert network that connects leading organizations with trusted experts across various knowledge domains. Experts earn income by sharing their knowledge through advisory work, projects, and AI model training. Our platform handles the complexities behind the scenes— screening, compliance, scheduling, and payments—so knowledge sharing stays focused on meaningful insights and real impact.
We're a hyper-growth and profitable company, quickly expanding our expert network, launching new offices, and new products. We are headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Brooklyn and Bangalore. Our customers include the fastest-growing digital health companies, technology companies, institutional investment firms, consulting firms and AI Labs. We are backed by top marketplace investors and operators of companies like DoorDash, Airbnb, Affirm.
What we believe
Human knowledge is the world's most valuable asset. And yet, despite being more interconnected than ever, most knowledge still remains stuck in our heads, inaccessible and underutilized. Our vision is to make human knowledge easily accessible and infinitely scalable by building tools for the new age knowledge economy.
About the role
We're hiring a Growth Engineer to build the systems that bring people to Office Hours and help them get value quickly. You'll work across everything growth related: signup and onboarding flows, the experiments that tell us what's working, and the instrumentation that shows us where people get stuck.
We're a two-sided marketplace, so there are two funnels to improve. Organizations come to us looking for the right expert, and experts come to us to share what they know and get paid for it. Both sides have their own problems worth solving.
This role sits on the engineering team and works closely with marketing, product, and design. You'll be measured on whether the numbers move, and you'll have real latitude to decide what's worth trying.
We build with AI coding tools, and we want someone who's leaning into them, using them to prototype, iterate, and ship faster without compromising on quality.
What you'll do
Build and ship across our growth surfaces, including landing pages, signup and onboarding flows, and the paths that turn interest into activity on both sides of the marketplace
Run experiments end to end: set up the test, ship it, measure it honestly, and kill the ones that don't work
Build and improve the experimentation and feature-flagging infrastructure that makes those tests quick to run
Instrument the funnel so we can see where people drop off and why, and make that visible to the rest of the team
Build internal tooling and automations that make our growth and marketing work faster
Use AI coding tools to prototype and ship quickly, raising both velocity and quality
What you bring
You have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience and are comfortable working across the stack
You're tenacious and you move fast: when an experiment doesn't move the numbers, you figure out why and try the next thing
You take initiative: you spot opportunities, make the case for them, and see them through
You have experience with experimentation, A/B testing, or funnel instrumentation, or a real appetite to learn it
You're comfortable with SQL and product analytics, enough to find where a funnel is leaking without waiting on someone else
You embrace AI coding tools and use them to move faster without sacrificing quality
You work easily with marketing, product, and design, and you bring data to the question of what to try next
Tech Stack
Front end: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind, shadcn/ui
Back end: Node.js, TypeScript, MongoDB, OpenSearch, Temporal
Analytics and experimentation: Statsig, Amplitude, Metabase
Workflow: GitHub, Slack, Notion, Figma, Linear
Bonus Points
Experience with Statsig or similar experimentation and feature-flagging platforms
Experience with lifecycle messaging across email, in-app, and notifications
Experience with mobile app development on iOS or Android
Experience with marketplace growth, or with any two-sided or multi-stakeholder funnel
Experience with SEO, Core Web Vitals, or CMS-driven marketing sites
Experience building internal tools or automations across sales and marketing systems
Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex
Our Benefits
Competitive salary & stock options
Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage
$100 monthly fitness stipend
Flexible vacation time, regular company holidays
Company retreats (Tahoe, San Diego, Mendocino, Mexico City)
Flexible remote work policy
Paid parental leave (12 weeks of fully paid bonding leave, and birthing parents get 8–10 additional weeks of paid recovery leave)
