At Lyft, our purpose is to serve and connect. We aim to achieve this by cultivating a work environment where all team members belong and have the opportunity to thrive.
Lyft Urban Solutions powers the bike-sharing and scooter-sharing systems that move millions of people in over 60 cities worldwide. We built North America's first automated bike-share system and continue to lead the micromobility revolution. Our systems operate globally - from Citi Bike in New York to BIXI in Montreal, Divvy in Chicago, Capital Bikeshare in DC, and iconic systems in Austin, Barcelona, Bogota, Boston, Buenos Aires, Columbus, Detroit, Dubai, London, Madrid, Mexico City, Monaco, Pittsburgh, Portland, Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco, Toronto, and beyond.
We're not just technology providers - we operate these systems, building the software, hardware, and operations that make urban micromobility work at scale.
Ready to shape how millions of people move through their cities every day?
The Hardware Product and Industrial Design Team at LUS is responsible for conceiving, guiding development of, launching, and sustaining world-class products used by riders, cities, and operators over the world. We represent LUS in micromobility forums, engage directly with customers, and guide research and development. We aim to ensure all products we develop are delightful for riders, globally competitive, elegant, and future-facing.
We are looking for an exceptional Senior Product Manager, Hardware to manage our existing stations portfolio as well as develop our next generation of stations products. Our stations are now as iconic in cityscapes as London Routemaster buses of old. You will have end-to-end ownership of new station product development, leading a cross-functional team through all phases of hardware development to launch, and will be responsible for a fleet of over 300,000 charging and non-charging station assets already on the ground. You will engage directly with LUS leadership, engineering, data science, operations, and design to achieve the company’s vision for reinventing transportation. You will work closely with our Vehicles Product Manager, Industrial Design team, and counterparts in software product management to ensure our entire ecosystem of products functions cohesively. We are looking for an entrepreneurial and passionate candidate to innovate and execute across a rapidly growing, fast paced company and industry from Montreal or Longueuil, where the first automated bikeshare system in North America was developed.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and align cross functional partners and teams: engineers, operators, designers, data scientists, marketers, and business partners to drive a shared vision for new station hardware products, and ongoing sustaining work on in-market products
- Understand Lyft's strategic and competitive position in order to set team goals, success metrics and roadmap to align with Lyft's mission and drive maximum impact based on data analysis, market research and usability studies
- Identify and resolve systemic product issues impacting Lyft markets and customers and aggressively take action to resolve
- Communicate clear roadmaps, priorities, experiments and decisions across a wide spectrum of audiences from partner teams to executives
- Represent Lyft in external forums and with customers to drive adoption of our products
- Work closely with counterparts in software product management, program management, and other related functions to develop best-in-class, cohesive experiences for riders, operators, and cities
Experience:
- 5-6+ years experience in product management, product design or equivalent consulting experience
- Unafraid to ask questions, regardless of what others will think about it
- Passion for micromobility and what we are trying to achieve in sustainable urban transportation
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or relevant work experience preferred
- Experience developing and deploying end to end hardware products is a plus, but not required
- Experience with micromobility vehicles and platforms is a plus, but not required
- Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized and structured way. Be able to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
- Excellent judgment and thoughtfulness about the dynamics of a product ecosystem
- Strong communication skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level - within teams, within the company, to users, to press, and other audiences
- Experience leading post-launch optimizations including developing testing and product improvement strategies is a plus, but not required
- Ability to conceptualize, manage and prioritize multiple projects for stakeholders
- Detail oriented with superior organizational skills - balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you
Benefits:
- Extended health and dental coverage options, along with life insurance and disability benefits
- Mental health benefits
- Family building benefits
- Pet benefits
- Access to a Lyft funded Health Care Savings Account
- RRSP plan with company match to help save for your future
- In addition to provincial observed holidays, salaried team members are covered under Lyft's flexible paid time off policy. The policy allows team members to take off as much time as they need (with manager approval). Hourly team members get 15 days paid time off, with an additional day for each year of service
- Lyft is proud to support new parents with 18 weeks of paid time off, designed as a top-up plan to complement provincial programs. Biological, adoptive, and foster parents are all eligible.
- Subsidized commuter benefits and Lyft ride credits
