ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for an HR Coordinator to join our global People Operations team on a 12-month maternity cover contract, starting in February 2027. The position is based in Malta, where you’ll be the team’s local HR coordinator. People Operations brings together colleagues across the UK, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden, and was formed in 2026 to unite our local HR coordinators into one team. We're aligning processes across locations, learning from each other and shaping how the team works, so you'll join at a point where your ideas and ways of working make a real difference.
As the go-to person for HR in Malta, you’ll be the first point of contact for employees and managers on everyday HR questions such as time off, policies, wellbeing and benefits, directing more complex matters to our HR Business Partners.
You’ll also keep our HR system (HiBob) accurate, and support our HR Business Partners with tasks such as vacation and leave requests, resignations, as well as employment updates. You'll work with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, Finance and our HRIS team, as well as local government authorities and Government authorities. Next year you'll also contribute to some projects: improving our new HR ticketing system and bringing more AI into it, reviewing our local policies and information.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Act as the first point of contact for employee and manager HR queries in Malta, directing HR Business Partner matters onwards
Own the accuracy of employee data in HiBob, from creating new profiles to updating records as things change
Support HR Business Partners with HR processes, including leave requests, resignations and employee lifecycle changes
Liaise with local government entities (e.g. Jobsplus, Identità) and the Malta Gaming Authority on employee-related matters
Contribute to improvement of our HR ticketing system, including how we use AI within it
Support the review of local HR information and policies
Collaborate with People Operations colleagues across locations to align and improve processes globally
OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
2-3 years of experience in an HR administration or coordination role
Hands-on experience maintaining employee data in an HR system (e.g. HiBob, Workday or BambooHR)
Good knowledge of Maltese employment processes and experience dealing with local government platforms such as Jobsplus and Identità
A highly organised, structured approach, with the ability to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environment
A service-minded, proactive and solution-oriented attitude, and fluent English
NICE TO HAVES
Experience working with HiBob
Maltese language skills
