About the Role
Hims & Hers is looking to hire a Director of Planning Systems to join our Strategic Finance organization. Reporting to the VP, FP&A, you will build and lead the team that owns the company's consolidated planning and reporting architecture, setting the strategy for how inputs from across the FP&A pillars flow into a coherent, system-based corporate view that informs decisions made by senior leadership, the executive team, and the Board.
This is a leadership role for someone who pairs strong financial and business acumen with a track record of leading finance transformation and planning systems at scale. You will define the multi-year finance systems vision, own the platform and its roadmap, and build a team spanning planning systems, consolidation, and executive reporting. You will act as a force multiplier for the broader FP&A organization and a trusted partner to Finance leadership. We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth environment, gets energy from building durable infrastructure, and can stay close enough to the detail to hold the bar on accuracy.
You WillLead, hire, and develop a team of 1–2 analysts to lead finance transformation efforts across finance and accounting, spanning planning systems, consolidation, and executive reporting, setting clear priorities and a high bar for accuracy and timeliness
Own the consolidated planning and reporting engine behind the annual operating plan, long-range plan, and monthly/quarterly forecast cycles, covering data intake, consolidation, and on-time delivery of the outputs reviewed by senior leadership, and lead its evolution into a scalable, system-based architecture
Serve as the functional and technical owner of the financial planning platform, leading EPM tool evaluation and selection, design, implementation, enhancement, administration, and team enablement
Own the planning systems roadmap end-to-end, including prioritization, sequencing against the planning calendar, governance, and change management, and communicate progress and trade-offs to Finance leadership
Design data flows and integrations connecting the planning platform to the ERP, data warehouse, and BI stack, partnering with Accounting, Data Engineering, Data Science and Analytics on architecture and data ownership
Support executive-facing financial deliverables, including the Weekly Business Review, monthly OpEx review, and quarterly Board and Audit Committee materials, and build dashboards and reporting that surface KPIs and business insights with minimal manual assembly
Partner with category, marketing, and ops finance leads to standardize how their inputs are gathered, pressure-tested, and consolidated into a single corporate view
Establish and enforce best practices across systems controls, data governance, and planning process documentation
B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent experience; MBA or CPA a plus
12+ years of progressive experience spanning strategic finance / FP&A and finance systems or finance transformation roles, including 4+ years building and leading teams, ideally including managers
Strong financial and business acumen, including command of P&L mechanics, budgeting, forecasting, and the consolidation mechanics behind a company-wide planning cycle
Deep experience owning an EPM / planning platform (Anaplan, Pigment, Adaptive, Planful, or similar) at the strategy level, including leading at least one full selection and implementation from business case through adoption
Demonstrated success leading multiple finance transformation initiatives end-to-end, standing up or materially scaling planning systems and automated reporting across a complex, multi-business organization
Experience managing vendor relationships, implementation partners, and a systems budget
Ability to translate large, complex datasets into clear, structured, decision-ready outputs for the executive team and Board
Proven ability to drive alignment and influence senior cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority
Excellent written and verbal communication and executive presence, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences, from system administrators to the executive team and Board
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a bias toward action in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
Track record of leveraging AI and automation to improve finance workflows at a team or organizational level
Proficiency with SQL and experience with BI tools (Looker); NetSuite or similar ERP integration experience
Experience at a high-growth public company (recent IPO) or late-stage startup (Series C+) that has scaled through significant revenue and organizational growth
Direct experience supporting a public company's external reporting cycle (Board, Audit Committee, earnings/guidance)
Experience with SOX controls as they apply to planning and reporting systems
Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):
Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles
Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days
Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave
Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)
401k benefits with employer matching contribution
Offsite team retreats
We are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply—even if you're not sure if your background or experience is a perfect match.
