About Us
Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.
Our work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.
About the Role
As Jira Architect, you will own Jira end to end across Harmattan AI’s Product and R&D organizations. You will design a single master structure, standardize how teams plan and track their work, and turn Jira into the reliable source of truth for engineering coordination. You will also use AI to remove manual admin and reporting, so that coordination keeps pace as the company scales.
Responsibilities
Design a master Jira architecture across all projects: hierarchy, issue types, workflows, fields and permissions.
Audit existing projects and interview Product and R&D leads to map how teams really work.
Standardize workflows while preserving team autonomy, and migrate teams onto the common structure.
Build standard templates that let a new team or project onboard in hours.
Deliver portfolio views and dashboards that give leadership cross-team visibility.
Automate triage, summaries and reporting with Jira automation, scripting and AI.
Run governance: admin rules, and clean-up of unused projects, fields and schemes.
Connect Jira with the wider stack, including Confluence and ERP/PLM tools where relevant.
Candidate Requirements
4+ years of hands-on experience as a Jira admin or Atlassian consultant.
Led at least one large Jira restructuring or migration covering dozens of projects.
Deep knowledge of Jira Cloud: workflows, schemes, permissions, automation, JQL and Plans.
Solid understanding of how R&D and product engineering teams work, in both hardware and software development.
Regular use of AI tools and scripting (Python, REST API a plus) to automate admin and reporting.
Consulting mindset: structured and pragmatic, able to drive change and secure adoption of a standard, diplomatically but firmly.
Fluency in English required; French is a plus.
We look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.
