Handshake was founded on a simple belief that everyone deserves a path to a great career, regardless of where they went to school or who they know. Today, we power 25 million job seekers, 1 million+ employers, and 1,600 educational institutions.
About the RoleWe are growing our EMEA team and looking for a Marketing & Events Coordinator to help us show up brilliantly – for the employers and universities we work with, and for the students we exist to serve.
This role sits across both sides of our marketplace – B2B employer and agency activity, and D2C student-facing campaigns – so no two weeks look the same. You'll support our events calendar and social presence, work alongside agency partners and internal stakeholders, and build foundational marketing skills as part of the broader EMEA marketing team. You'll be hands-on: travelling to support events in person, coordinating with our agency, and learning what "good" looks like from the ground up, with guidance from your manager as you go.
This is a developing role reporting into the Growth Marketing Strategist. You won't be expected to have all the answers on day one – you'll be executing defined pieces of work with support, building judgement over time, and growing into broader ownership as you demonstrate impact.
Events
Support the planning and delivery of the annual EMEA events calendar, working closely with your manager, who sets priorities and provides guidance
Take ownership of individual events end-to-end under guidance – from logistics coordination to on-the-ground delivery
Travel to support and help deliver our B2B and D2C student events in person
Support day-to-day coordination with agency and suppliers, escalating issues or risks to your manager
Work with our designer to help bring creative concepts to life in event assets and signage
Sweat the details on-site – signage, run-of-show, logistics – to help ensure consistent quality
Capture and coordinate content from events, including photography, video and social assets
Support reporting on event performance (leads, engagement, attendance), learning what to track and why
Marketing
Support execution of the EMEA marketing strategy across B2B and D2C, as defined by senior marketing team members
Own day-to-day scheduling and publishing of the social media calendar (LinkedIn), within an editorial plan set by your manager
Coordinate campaign logistics across channels – email, social, events, content, website and paid – following established plans
Partner with the Growth and Sales teams to support alignment between marketing activity and commercial priorities
Build and maintain marketing assets, templates and collateral
Strong organisational skills – you keep track of multiple tasks and follow through reliably, nothing falls through the cracks
High attention to detail across copy, logistics and data
A curious, creative thinker who's keen to contribute ideas and comfortable asking questions when facing ambiguity
A clear communicator, comfortable coordinating day-to-day with agency partners, colleagues and internal stakeholders
Energised by variety, and happy to pick up new kinds of tasks
2+ years' experience in a marketing, events, or related role – internships count, and early-career candidates are encouraged to apply
Ability to speak French or German would be a bonus
