Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost.
Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built.
Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen.
If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
The Role
Growth Finance owns the economics of how Hadrian wins work. We sit at the front end of every program — pricing the pursuit, shaping the deal, and structuring the partnerships and joint ventures that get new capacity off the ground with our commercial and government customers. The Associate is the analytical center of that work. You'll build the model behind a pursuit from a blank sheet: unit economics, capacity and capex requirements, rate and margin structure, and the returns case that determines whether we bid, at what price, and on what terms. You'll pressure-test your own assumptions before anyone else gets the chance, and you'll be expected to have a view — not just a spreadsheet — on whether a program is worth pursuing.
Beyond the model, you'll help structure the vehicles. That means partnership and JV economics, term sheets, waterfall and downside mechanics, and the diligence behind counterparties we're considering taking risk with. You'll write the memo that goes to leadership, and you'll defend it in the room.
This is a small team with a short path to owning deals outright. The work available to you scales with what you demonstrate rather than with tenure. You will work directly with the executive leadership team at Hadrian on some of the company’s most important strategic initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Drive strategic project work spanning transactions, capital markets activities, market research, new business model evaluations, and other business critical initiatives
Develop and own dynamic financial models and analyses
Create and present high-quality Exec and Board-facing presentations
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure to ensure alignment on financial goals and performance
Serve as a partner to FP&A, aligning Special Projects and M&A models with broader corporate financial and business reporting activities
Build complex financial models from a blank page, including cash flow forecasting and scenario analysis
Carry ambiguous, cross-functional work all the way to a decision without being managed to it
Compress a complex analysis into a recommendation a senior leader can act on immediately
Manage several concurrent work streams without letting any of them slip
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related field
5-8 years in progressive Investment Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Development, Venture Capital, Hedge Fund experience
Familiarity with A&D and advanced-manufacturing markets and the players in them.
Prior PE, banking, corp dev, or VC experience, ideally in industrials, defense, or deep tech, or experience working inside a scaling manufacturing or hardware-focused company.
Technical experience in an engineering capacity working on complex products such as aerospace & defense, medical devices, automotive, oil & gas, power
Exposure to project finance and large-scale capital investment analysis (facility buildouts, infrastructure, capex-heavy programs).
Experience drafting materials in deal negotiations (e.g., commercial contracts, term sheets, partnership proposals) with high attention to detail.
Working knowledge of defense contracting and government cost accounting (FAR, CAS, DCAA, contract types) and how they shape deal economics.
Enough understanding of advanced manufacturing technology (e.g., CNC, additive) to evaluate technical targets.
Intermediate accounting knowledge and comfort building lightweight tooling/automation (e.g., VBA, Python, SQL) to scale analytical work.
A network in the defense / space / manufacturing investor and operator ecosystem.
Working knowledge of government contracting processes
What Will Set You Apart
Experience in Manufacturing, Systems, Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering. (Extensive practical technical experience may be considered in lieu of minimum amount of finance experience)
Are self-motivated and eager to get hands-on to tackle challenges independently while working collaboratively toward identified objectives
Feel passionate about companies that make physical products
Are excited to work in a fast-paced environment with high-stakes and quick iteration cycles
Are a highly effective communicator when speaking or writing, especially when presenting technical information
Compensation
For this role, the target salary range is $164,000 - $230,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).
This is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
Benefits for Full-time Employees
Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans for employees
401kRelocation support may be provided for certain situations, based on business need.
Flexible vacation policy
