Hadrian is building autonomous factories to reindustrialize America. By combining AI, advanced software, robotics, and full-stack manufacturing, we help aerospace and defense companies build rockets, satellites, aircraft, ships, and other mission-critical systems up to 10x faster and at significantly lower cost.
Following our $1.37B Series D at a $7.87B valuation, Hadrian is rapidly expanding our manufacturing footprint, launching new capabilities across welding, casting, forging, electronics, additive manufacturing, and more, while scaling our Factory-as-a-Service platform to transform how critical products are built.
Backed by leading investors including JPMorgan Chase, Valor Equity Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, 137 Ventures, Lux Capital, T. Rowe Price, and Morgan Stanley, we’re building the future of American manufacturing—and looking for exceptional people to help make it happen.
If you’re ready to take on the most challenging and rewarding work of your career while helping create American manufacturing jobs for generations to come, you’re exactly who we’re looking for.
The Role:
US defense systems run on technical data that is often decades old: scanned paper, hand-marked prints, partial models, and drawings that were never turned into 3D models. A part that exists only on an old drawing is hard to source. That slows how fast the armed forces and our prime customers can sustain and rebuild the systems that use it. Hadrian turns that data into manufacturing-ready models and drawings, so customers can keep their systems running and Hadrian can make or procure the parts.
As a CAD Modeler, you build the 3D models and 2D drawings for naval and aerospace parts, starting from whatever the customer sends. You also build the models and drawings for each manufacturing state (M-state) of a part: the in-process configurations the factory builds and inventories on the way to the final part. Our engineers define each M-state, and you model, draw, and configure it. You own your parts from first model through release and every change after it.
What You’ll Do
Build manufacturing-ready 3D models from naval prints, aerospace drawings, partial models, and other customer documents, matching the customer's definition feature for feature.
Make the 2D drawings the factory runs on, from your models or the customer's.
Build the models and drawings for each M-state of a part.
Work out conflicting or unclear views against the rest of the drawing.
Keep PLM data correct and structured, and send your parts through the release workflow.
Carry each customer change through the customer geometry and every related M-state across the part family.
Build models that tooling, programming, and inspection teams can use as a base.
Work with manufacturing teams and turn around the model and drawing changes they need.
What We’re Looking For
3+ years building production CAD models and drawings for hardware a factory made.
Expert use of one parametric 3D CAD application, with models the next person can change. NX preferred; CATIA, Creo, or SolidWorks also fit.
Experience building 3D models from complex 2D drawings with no existing model, including internal features that only show in a section view.
Reads and drafts GD&T per ASME Y14.5, weld and NDT symbols per AWS A2.4, and drawings to ASME Y14.100.
Experience releasing parts and controlling changes in a PLM system.
Asks when a drawing cannot answer a question instead of guessing.
Sets their own release schedule across many parts and switches priorities quickly.
What Will Set You Apart
Production work in Siemens NX.
Experience with naval or shipyard drawings, customer data packages, and old or hand-drawn prints.
Has modeled and drawn in-process (M-state) configurations that differ from the final customer definition.
Has run a customer change process and an internal change process at the same time.
Background in machined parts, welded assemblies, tooling, and CMM or scan inspection.
Spots when one parametric model can cover a whole family of part numbers, and builds it that way.
