Gecko Robotics is helping the world’s most important organizations ensure the availability, reliability, and sustainability of critical infrastructure. Gecko's complete and connected solutions combine wall-climbing robots, industry-leading sensors, and an AI-powered data platform to provide customers with a unique window into the current and future health of their physical assets. This enables real-time decision making to increase the efficiency and safety of operations, promote mission readiness, and protect the environment and civilization from the effects of infrastructure failure.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Solutions Engineer, Power to lead customer deployments from kickoff through go-live. You will combine plant systems knowledge with hands-on software configuration, asset data validation, and customer coordination to ensure the platform accurately reflects each facility.
Our software gives industrial operators an accurate operating picture of their facility. You will help customers trust and use it by ensuring each site is set up correctly, explaining the engineering reasoning behind configuration decisions, and training users.
This role is based in our New York City or Pittsburgh office, with 25% to 50% travel to customer sites.
What You Will Do
Serve as the technical point of contact across a portfolio of customer sites, leading configuration, deployment, and user training.
Ensure every deployment meets customer expectations and agreed product requirements. Define and track success metrics and support adoption.
Resolve configuration and deployment issues, keeping customers informed and involving Engineering or the commercial team when appropriate.
Deliver product demonstrations, user training, and structured feedback sessions.
Launch new customer sites from kickoff through go-live, coordinating requirements, timelines, and risks while improving deployment playbooks.
Configure the software and build and validate each site’s asset data against plant engineering documentation so the platform accurately reflects the facility.
Apply and refine tagging conventions, naming standards, and asset data taxonomy, resolving inconsistencies so every site is built consistently.
Test configurations and workflows across development and production environments, report software issues with clear reproduction steps, and verify deployment quality before customer milestones.
Use plant systems knowledge to validate software outputs, investigate incorrect or misleading results, and explain the reasoning behind configuration choices.
Turn field learnings into clear, prioritized feedback and serve as a resource on plant systems and operations for the software engineering team.
About You / Required Skills
5+ years in industrial operations, maintenance, or plant systems work, including experience where data accuracy was non-negotiable.
Fluency in reading engineering drawings and explaining system function, design intent, and operating considerations to guide accurate software configuration.
Experience building or maintaining accuracy-critical plant data: CMMS or EAM master data (SAP PM, Maximo, JDE, or similar), DCS-to-historian tag mapping, loop-check or instrument index verification.
Experience integrating large-scale industrial software: SCADA/HMI platforms, data historians, or plant information systems.
Strong attention to detail when checking equipment tags, asset relationships, and software configurations against plant documentation.
A thorough approach to investigating discrepancies, understanding their causes, and correcting them or involving the right team.
Strong organization across multiple customer deployments, including tracking requirements, milestones, follow-ups, and risks through completion.
Sound judgment when working with incomplete information, asking focused questions, and explaining the reasoning behind configuration decisions.
Clear communication with plant operators, engineers, and corporate leaders, including knowing when to involve Engineering or the commercial team.
Willingness to use AI tools to support daily work and verify their outputs for accuracy.
Ability to travel 25% to 50% of the time to customer sites.
Preferred Skills
Background working directly with industrial customers through deployment, field service, applications engineering, account management, or technical training.
Hands-on field experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, or system walkdowns using P&IDs and electrical one-lines.
Ability to write code or control logic and explain how components interact within complex systems and where problems can arise.
At Gecko, our people are our greatest investment. In addition to competitive compensation packages, we offer company equity, 401(k) matching, gender-neutral parental leave, full medical, dental, and vision insurance, mental health, ongoing professional development, family planning assistance, and flexible paid time off.
Gecko values collaboration, innovation, and partnership, and we believe we do our best work when we're together in person. We’re an office-first culture but understand that sometimes you may need to work from home. Many people are in the office five days a week, others need a bit more flexibility. Ultimately, we care about the outcomes we achieve - and creating a culture of autonomy and trust that enables that impact.
Gecko is committed to creating a culture of inclusion and belonging, and we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We believe it is our collective responsibility to uphold these values and encourage candidates from all backgrounds to join us in our mission to protect today’s infrastructure and give form to tomorrow’s. All qualified applicants will be treated with respect and receive equal consideration for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, uniform service, veteran status, age, or any other protected characteristic per federal, state, or local law. If you are passionate about what you do and want to use your talents to support our critical mission, we’d love to hear from you.
