About This Role
As a Commissioning Engineer II, you will support the execution of commissioning activities across your assigned data center projects. You will be hands-on in the field — supporting the execution of test procedures, documenting results, coordinating with trade contractors, and helping drive systems through the commissioning lifecycle from pre-functional testing through turnover. This role is ideal for an engineer with foundational commissioning experience who is ready to take on greater technical responsibility and grow toward independent project ownership. (#INDDIG)
What You'll Be Working On
Support the execution of test procedures including pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and integrated systems tests across mechanical, electrical, or controls disciplines.
Document test results, deficiencies, and corrective actions accurately and in accordance with project requirements.
Coordinate with trade contractors and subcontractors to schedule and support commissioning activities in the field.
Review installation conditions against approved drawings, submittals, and specifications to verify readiness for testing.
Assist in the development and review of commissioning test scripts, MOPs, and punch list documentation.
Track open deficiencies, support adequate resolution and document formal closure in coordination with the project team.
Participate and support startup activities and factory witness testing as assigned.
Maintain up-to-date commissioning logs, field reports, and turnover documentation.
Support integrated systems testing and reliability demonstrations for critical MEP, and BMS/EPMS infrastructure.
Adhere to all site safety protocols and compliance requirements throughout commissioning activities.
Communicate daily progress, issues, and risks to the lead CxE or Manager of Commissioning.
What You'll Bring
2+ years of experience in data center commissioning, building systems, or critical infrastructure construction.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent field experience considered.
Working knowledge of data center systems including power distribution and cooling infrastructure.
Familiarity with commissioning levels L1 through L5 and respective requirements at each phase.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, single-line diagrams, and equipment submittals.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits and the ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced field environment.
