This is a practical role suited to someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and being visible on site.
Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out first-line reactive maintenance tasks across the site, including basic repairs, fixture and fitting adjustments, and minor building works.
- Perform routine checks and planned preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Identify, report, and help resolve building, office, and lab-related issues to minimise disruption.
- Support and escort contractors on site, ensuring work areas are safe, tidy, and compliant.
- Help monitor contractor work and escalate issues to the Facilities Manager or Facilities Engineer as required.
- Assist with small projects, minor refurbishments, and facilities upgrades.
- Support desk moves, furniture moves, and basic workspace changes.
- Assist with lab and equipment installations where required, limited to non-specialist tasks.
- Support site services such as meeting room setup, events, deliveries, and general building logistics.
- The role is expected to be approximately 95% facilities support and 5% involves holiday and absence cover for the shipping and receiving delivery room, including parcel handling and national shipments. This cover element is not a specialist requirement of the role, and brief internal training will be provided.
- Support site health and safety requirements, safe systems of work, and housekeeping standards.
- Report hazards and maintenance issues promptly.
- Follow all site procedures, permits, and safety rules when carrying out work.
- Log tasks, issues, and completed work accurately in facilities systems or trackers.
