The role We are looking for a hydrogeologist to assess whether water supply and discharge are viable at proposed energy and infrastructure sites. You will work inside Blumen’s platform, checking and improving AI-generated analysis so developers get findings they can act on. Your judgment will also shape how the product handles water across states. This is a flexible-hours contract role, suited to independent consultants or practitioners with capacity alongside other work. What you will do Assess groundwater and surface water availability for construction and operations. Interpret hydrogeologic maps, well logs, aquifer tests, and agency datasets to estimate yield and flow rates. Evaluate discharge options (surface water, infiltration, injection, municipal systems) and their capacity. Identify contamination affecting source or discharge suitability. Identify the permits, water rights, and groundwater management rules that apply in each state. Review AI-generated findings, correct errors, and tell developers what to investigate next. Help define Blumen’s methods for evaluating supply and discharge. Who should apply You have professional experience in hydrogeology or groundwater resources, whether in consulting, government, utilities, or infrastructure development. You can turn incomplete public data into a defensible call on water availability and discharge. You know NPDES, underground injection control, and state water rights and groundwater regimes. You are detail-oriented and care about citations and accuracy. A PG license, experience with water-intensive projects, aquifer testing or groundwater modeling, and GIS are valuable. Compensation: Hourly / 1099 Our values Put yourself in the customer’s shoes. We care deeply about serving our customers above all else. No job is too small. Details matter, even if nobody will ever see them. Every problem is an opportunity. Any solution that is clever, difficult to reproduce, or takes serious guts is an opportunity to widen our moat. To go far, go together. We trust, respect, win, and lose together, as a team. Own the problem. Not your solution. Best idea wins. It doesn’t get easier. We just get faster. There is no finish line. Every day is a step toward compounding success. This is a marathon toward excellence.
