About AIUC

AIUC builds standards and insurance for frontier AI. Our mission is to Underwrite superintelligence. We exist because risk, not capability, is becoming the binding constraint on AI being useful. History offers lessons for how to build confidence in new technology; electricity burned down houses until insurers funded Underwriters Laboratories (UL) to certify products against their standards. Today, the UL mark is a trustmark on every light bulb in America. We’re building that for AI.

AIUC-1, our standard for agent security, serves frontier builders like Cursor, Lovable, ElevenLabs, and Harvey. We've raised $55m from Ribbit, First Harmonic and Nat Friedman to audit frontier AI. Our team comes from METR, Anthropic, McKinsey, and OpenAI. Come join us.

The Role

Most of our hiring over the next year is technical: forward deployed engineers who get customers' agents into our evaluation system, platform engineers building the product that runs those evaluations, and specialists in evals, security, and research. Every one of these hires shapes a small team.

We're looking for a Talent Partner to own that hiring end to end. You'll work directly with our engineering leads and founders to define what great looks like for each role, find people who aren't looking, and close them. You'll be the first person most engineers talk to at AIUC, so you'll need to pitch the mission credibly to someone who has heard every pitch.

In your first 90 days you'll take over our active engineering searches and get our newest technical roles from zero to a live pipeline.

In this role, you will:

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for engineering and research roles, from intake and calibration through sourcing, screening, offer, and close

  • Partner with hiring managers to turn vague briefs into clear profiles and target lists

  • Build talent maps and sourcing plays for hard-to-find profiles in AI evals, security, and forward deployed engineering

  • Screen for what you can judge, and hand our technical interviewers candidates worth their time

  • Run offer conversations, including equity, for candidates with strong options elsewhere

  • Own the agency relationships for your searches

  • Track your funnel and tell us what's working and what isn't

  • Help make AIUC a place engineers want to work, through events and our team's networks

What we're looking for

  • 5-7 years of full-cycle technical recruiting in high-growth tech, ideally at an early-stage AI or infrastructure company. (Impact matters more than years.)

  • You can explain what separates a great engineer from a good one, and engineering leaders trust your read

  • Concrete, creative sourcing for passive candidates

  • You've closed candidates with competing offers from top AI companies

  • You use data to run your searches, and you're comfortable pushing back when it tells you something the team doesn't want to hear

Nice to Haves

  • Experience recruiting ML, research, or security engineers

  • An engineering or technical background

  • You've used AI or automation tools to make sourcing and screening faster

  • Eyes up: wrestle with the mission, and let where AI is heading shape our strategy, our teams and our day-to-day work.

Underwriting superintelligence is our life's work. If you want it to be yours, apply now.
