The Role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager (Warsaw, Poland) with a strong technical background in full-stack development to lead our Identity and Access engineering staff. In this leadership role, you will manage, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack engineers responsible for building and maintaining the systems and interfaces that authenticate users, allow agents to scale on our public APIs, and enable self-service product configuration.
You will guide your team in leveraging Addepar’s enterprise identity platform to create responsive, frictionless user journeys. These range from the “front door” of our products (such as login and MFA) to the administrative tools our customers use to configure experiences for their internal teams and end-clients.
Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and engineering partners, you will ensure our delivery aligns with our clients' complex regional, compliance, and privacy needs. Ultimately, you will foster an environment of engineering excellence, empowering your team to build the next generation of features that prepare Addepar for the demands of modern, AI-driven users.
Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the country where this role is based on the first day of employment. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
What You’ll Do
- Manage, mentor, and recruit a team of full-stack software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and collaboration.
- Partner with Product and Design to define roadmaps, plan sprints, and ensure the successful, timely delivery of user and customer configuration tools built on Addepar’s identity platform.
- Oversee the team's technical strategy as they migrate Addepar’s authentication experiences to new platforms, ensuring global availability and scalable user experiences.
- Align architectural, strategic identity investments with product-driven improvements, acting as a key stakeholder in technical design and architecture reviews.
- Support the team's operational health by implementing agile best practices, managing technical debt, and maintaining high standards for code quality, testing, and production stability.
Who You Are
- Extensive professional software engineering experience, with 2+ years of experience directly managing or leading software engineering teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
- Solid background in full-stack development (e.g., Java/object-oriented backend systems and modern web frameworks like React, Svelte, or Ember) to effectively guide technical discussions and system design
- Deep understanding of identity fundamentals, secure session management, and modern authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWTs, SAML)
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, coach, and retain top engineering talent while managing performance and supporting career growth
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to explore complex problem spaces objectively from multiple perspectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across engineering and non-engineering teams
- Self-driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift
